Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES VASAS 1942 - 2009 On July 10th, 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee, tragically we lost our Husband, Dad, Grampa. He is terribly missed by his devoted and beloved wife Maureen of 41 years, his children and 13 grandchildren, Kelly (Nadia) Lucas, Eric; Charlene (Will) Mercedee (Chris), Brandin, Kacy, Nicholas; Sue (Sebastien) Alexandria; Nadine (Trevor) Gavin and Ella, Kayla and Emily (with their dad Corey); Terry; Sandra (Trevor) Katie, Corin; also his companion Jetta and our Maxwell. Chuck was born in Stonewall, MB on April 7th, 1942 and was married in Golden, BC in 1968 to the love of his life. He was a hard working man from the time of his youth. Being an owner/operator of his 18 wheelers was the highlight of his career. He was a very kind hearted and jovial person with a unique sense of humor and with his quick comments he never ceased to bring a smile or chuckle to anyone he met on the road or at home. He was a very active person, working on many projects. The word bored did not enter his vocabulary. He would always find a way to fix anything that needed fixing. He did not tolerate the word can't. Chuck never criticized but only provided encouragement. He built confidence and self esteem in all of us. His spontaneous wit, his wisdom, his intelligence, set an example to strive hard. He always said a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Chuck provided all of us with excitement and entertainment. His enjoyment was watching boxing on TV. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He lived for his family and as hard as he requested a trip out he doubly tried to get a trip home. His ability to laugh at any situation made us feel safe and secure. He was a highly respected man and greatly loved. Chuck will remain in our hearts forever never to be forgotten for generations to come. He will be remembered by each of us for our special memories of him. A Memorial Service to honor Charles was held on August 7th, 2009 at Coutu Funeral Chapel. Officiating was Fr. David Brabant.
